Planning consent has been granted by Highland Council for the third house on phase one. The square-plan building, with a pyramidal roof (see below), follows the design precedent of two houses by Roderick James Architects in Drimnin, Morvern, and a nineteenth-century house in the High Street, Lochaline. The square plan is also the defining feature of many of the station houses along the West Highland Railway, built in the late 1890s.

As with all sites at Achabeag, it will have magnificent views over the Sound of Mull towards the Firth of Lorne – in this case through an almost entirely glazed southerly elevation.
